Hey everyone, my friend recently purchased a PC and is attempting to upgrade the RAM from 2133MHz to 2400MHz. After a few hours of work, the machine starts showing blue screens due to memory management issues. However, when he uses the 2133MHz in single-channel mode, everything functions properly.

I believe the processor doesn't have enough capacity to handle the RAM stick at this rate, especially with an i5-7500

Typically, anything above 2666 MHz for DDR4 is seen as an overclock.

Did you think the 2400 mhz memory could fail? The CPU should handle it just fine. Look into BIOS settings and possibly revert to default configurations. (jumpers/buttons or remove battery/power cord) Also, test one stick at a time, which might help identify a potentially faulty stick.

We attempted this method, but with just one stick it appears the blue screen won’t appear in any slot that’s filled. It might mean the motherboard is damaged, especially since there are only two RAM slots available.
