Hiho, the 7740X CPU ran smoothly at 5.0Ghz with all cores at 1.29V. To boost temperatures, I powered down the power supply before handling it, removed it, reinserted and then reset CMOS. After that, it booted normally but would hang when using Cinebench R15 or similar. Should I update the BIOS and give it another try? It worked before, so maybe a BIOS update is the next step.

If you made a mistake with the delidding, any changes you make in BIOS won't help anymore.

CPU functions properly; the issue lies with the overclocking settings. I removed it again this time, applied the high-temperature silicone layer, and reinstalled the LM.

Reversed the IHS using silicone. It seems the silicone might be the problem.

I received the special RTV high-temperature silicone from GamersNexus. It performs well. The only issue seems to be that the OC isn't stable, or it hasn't been stable before, so I might need additional testing.

This is likely the optimal choice.

I also stuck copper IHS on it, so I checked it at the store—it worked fine. I’ll give it another shot later with a new BIOS. Thanks.

Share a picture of your deli job, I’m sure you didn’t include enough details and now someone’s upset about just one part. Note: If the character never had stability from the start, this conversation isn’t very useful.
