System shows blue screen and stops working.
I assembled a machine for a friend and after some time it began to fail randomly with blue screens. It occurs in every game but notably in GTA 5 and Fortnite. I performed stability checks using OCCT covering RAM, GPU, CPU, memory, and everything worked fine. However, when playing with him in GTA, it crashes unexpectedly. I also ran the AIDA64 and Windows memory diagnostic tools, both showing no issues. I found information about a GPU driver problem and followed the recommendation to update to driver 566.36 for NVIDIA, as suggested by some online discussions, but his PC still crashes. Please help!
It also failed in Fortnite and this night it just froze on Windows. I believe it needs a game drive only, but I’ve already tried that and it still crashes.
Visit C:\Windows\Minidump to see if any minidump files exist. If present, return to the Windows directory and transfer the entire Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use your desktop if needed). Compress the copied folder and include it in a message.
From what I observed using just the first stick in slot A2 (note the sticks were purchased individually but are identical), it was less affected by bluescreening. Before acquiring the second stick, he experienced significantly fewer bluescreens and restarts. All components remain brand new.
Do you know if d.o.c.p or expo is activated in your BIOS? That caused crashes in my previous system too, especially when running those games. The components and games are quite power-hungry... If you have an extra PSU (at least 1000W), try that one temporarily. A 750W PSU should work but might be the main issue I suspect. Also, what error message appears on the BSOD? Hope you have a good chance!
Same pace and latency are expected. If the first option feels less affected by bluescreening, it might point to RAM. The challenge now is understanding why one stick still shows bluescreening despite adjustments. You could test further by disabling RAM OC in the comments to see if the problem resolves or reveals a solution.
