I’m reaching out to the libustechtips community for advice. I just bought a GTX G1 graphics card with an i5 2500K CPU running at 3.3 GHz. I’m still using games like CS:GO, Arma 3, and GTA V. Will this setup cause a major performance issue? Thanks!

You might face CPU limitations in Arma 3. I’ve experienced this myself with my i5 4690k and 1070, upgrading to an i7 6700k helped.

see if you can push the 2500k further. This should help ease CPU bottlenecks in demanding titles and lessen strain on your 1070.

Based on what I've observed, Arma III tends to perform best on platforms with fast hardware rather than being limited by older CPUs. It favors high-speed processors and ample memory across all levels. You probably won't face bottlenecks unless you see significant slowdowns and can pinpoint your CPU as the issue. Generally, most games should run smoothly with an i5-2500K, particularly if you slightly overclock it.

Arma 3, GTA V and CS:GO are definitely good choices. Especially in 1080p. You'll be all set with CS:GO.

During the initial setup, a 2500K temperature would severely limit performance for a 1070 processor. However, it's straightforward to push those CPUs up to 4.5 or 4.6 GHz using an affordable aftermarket cooling solution such as a 212 Evo.

You could try a 2700K setting too. With overclocking, these chips perform reliably now.
