I own a GTX 1660 SUPER and a Ryzen 5 2600 with 16GB RAM at 3200MHz. The machine consistently struggles, especially when I play Siege at medium settings. About a month ago it was averaging 120-150 FPS, but now it drops to 70-90 FPS or lower. This difference is more noticeable when I increase the frame rate significantly. During those periods, MSI Afterburner is active and I can observe the GPU usage, which usually stays between 50-60%, while the CPU sits at 5-10%. Running a CPU stress test gives around 200 less performance than expected. In GTA V it behaves similarly with the same GPU load and CPU idle. I don’t have any background applications affecting speed, no FPS limits set, and my FPS hovers around 70-80. Temperatures are normal—GPU around 60°C, CPU around 70°C. (I’m using the latest Windows 11 and have the newest NVIDIA drivers installed.)

Verify your power plan to confirm you're not in Power Saver: Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Power Options. Observe GPU and CPU temperatures during gaming and other activities. Keep an eye on CPU and GPU clock speeds to ensure they match expectations. Consider using DDU to reset and reinstall display drivers, following all recommended steps.

The results are top-tier, with GPU clocks a few months back near 2000 MHz, now dropping to about 1700 and sometimes 1900. The CPU was previously around 3.75 GHz during games and has since decreased to 3.6 GHz.

Some time back it was spring or winter. As summer arrives, the heat sets in, and clocks start moving slower. You haven’t shared your temperature updates yet.

Verify the CPU-Z channel # for Dual DRAM Frequency 1600 and ask about the cooler you're using with your CPU.

Your CPU-Z appears fine and seems typical. Have you adjusted any BIOS settings that might restrict CPU performance? Also, you don’t think Windows affects CPU or GPU utilization.

All systems are operating at standard factory configurations, with XMP and Safe Boot enabled.

It should definitely improve performance, wouldn't you agree? Want to give it a shot with Windows 10?
