Sometimes my computer shuts down twice instead of powering off normally. At first, nothing appears on the screen, then it shows briefly before turning back on again. The clock time in Windows seems incorrect, and the event viewer doesn’t display anything. My PC also occasionally restarts by itself—showing a Machine Check Exception or a Cache Hierarchy Error in the event viewer.

In some cases, I see an Asrock logo appear after a delay, followed by faster spinning fans but no display. Then fans slow down, and the logo reappears again. After about ten seconds, it disappears and fans spin faster. Sometimes the time shown in Windows is wrong, sometimes it’s off by hours, though it seems correct when I check BIOS.

When I turn on my PC after a normal shutdown, fans speed up, slow down, then show the Asrock logo—first with BIOS shortcuts, then with the loading wheel. This sequence suggests two restarts without a proper display, followed by a boot.

I’ve tried resetting BIOS settings, removing background apps, adjusting power plans, disabling global C-States, updating drivers and Windows, but nothing resolved it. I haven’t changed the CMOS battery, though my PC is only six months old.

There’s also a possibility it’s linked to BIOS errors—sometimes a fatal hardware error appears in the event viewer. The issue seems tied to a processor or memory problem, possibly related to the BIOS version or a faulty component.

I haven’t noticed BSODs, but I’ve seen a “Processor Core Error” warning. My specs are decent for my age, and the system feels stable otherwise. If this keeps happening, it might be worth checking the BIOS update status or consulting a technician.

I checked online, and it looks like many users updated their bios, which resolved the issue.
