Hello everyone, just installed a new PC with a Ryzen 7600 and an Asus TUF B650 Plus Wi-Fi motherboard. The Xbox Elite V2 controller is connected through onboard Bluetooth. I noticed the input delay is around 10-15 seconds now, which is higher than before using USB Bluetooth. Previously, on my old PC, it was up to 5 seconds with a USB adapter. All drivers are current. Any suggestions?
Have you checked for the newest drivers for the Bluetooth adapter? They’re usually available on the manufacturer’s website. Could be a good idea.
I refreshed all the drivers from the makers' site right after turning it on. I considered turning off the built-in Bluetooth and using the adapter from the previous PC to test whether the lag remains consistent or gets better.
Sure, I can attempt a manual USB-C connection to verify the input delay is solely due to the Bluetooth adapter.
I've experienced a comparable situation with an Xbox controller while playing God of War: Ragnarok. However, connecting it resolved the issue. It seemed game-specific, and some forum users reported memory leaks and errors, suggesting plugging it in might help. This advice could be useful, but there are other similar fixes available.
Disabled the built-in Bluetooth and connected using the USB adapter. After plugging it in, the device displayed a yellow warning in Device Manager. An update attempt failed as Windows indicated it was already up to date. It worked with the Xbox controller but dropped after five minutes. Removed the adapter and switched to built-in Bluetooth. Using another game eliminated the input delay completely; connecting via Type-C showed no delay at all.
It seems the adapter might have a problem. I recommend checking the device manager for warnings and reinstalling the driver. Right-click, select Properties, then Device status—this can help identify driver issues. If that doesn’t work, uninstall the device and download a new one from the manufacturer’s site. There could be interference if you're using a USB Bluetooth adapter in a 3.0 port; try switching to a 2.0 port. Also, consider whether you're connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet—Wi-Fi might cause interference on the 2.4GHz band. If possible, switch to the 5GHz band and see if performance improves.
