I was using a 3600 Ryzen processor on a Gigabyte 450 WiFi card, 3200MHz ADATA RAM, a 500W PSU with a 240GB SSD, a 2TB HDD, and an EVGA 1060 graphics card. Everything worked smoothly at first. My CPU cooler was the stock model. I upgraded to an Asus RTX 2060 Super, which improved gaming performance. Then I replaced my cooler with a Master ML120 L, and the PC ran better. I used Asus Graphic Tweak software and updated MSI Afterburner for monitoring temps and FPS.

One evening while playing Arma 3 for 2-3 hours, my PC restarted with all fans spinning at high speeds. The SSD lights didn’t blink. I checked the display on my PC—nothing was showing except the graphics and CPU fans. I thought maybe the AIO cooler wasn’t installed correctly or overheated, so I reapplied thermal paste and reinstalled it. Still, no display appeared.

I then swapped the PSU from a 500W Gigabyte to a 500W CM series model, but the issue persisted. I returned to my original 1060 graphics card, removed the motherboard battery, replaced it with the new PSU, and reinstalled the graphics card. After updating Afterburner, everything worked fine.

Recently, while playing CS GO for long hours, the PC restarted again with fans at high RPMs. I’m unsure if the problem lies with the Afterburner or the PSU not providing enough power. During the cooler swap, I accidentally cleaned the paste and some got into the pins—this caused a lot of frustration. I used a dry toothbrush to fix it. Could this have been the cause? Please let me know your thoughts.

I think the RTX 2060 might be the issue here. Could you test it on another machine and observe whether the problems continue? Try running a benchmark like Unigine Superposition or a stress test to check if high GPU temperatures (over 80°C) and full fan speed indicate cooling issues. If the temperature stays high even at maximum speed, your cooling setup may need improvement—consider upgrading your case or adding more fans.

CPU temps fine? CSGo is not known to hammer the gpu but the cpu pretty hard. Run HWinfo - make a Cinebunch R20 run or 2 and check your thermals. Any overclocks applied? Removed the old graphics driver for the 1060 with DDU and then installed the 2060 driver? A GPU on 80°C is not good but not so high that it shuts down, normally it clocks down on its own beforehand. I have the Asus rtx 2060 (non super) and even under heavy load in a 10 year old case the card goes to max. 57°C. I would make sure CPU is fine first.

Guys sad to hear that the 4-month-old Ryzen chip is broken or dead. I brought the CPU and motherboard from the store where I bought my PC parts, and they also checked other motherboards just to confirm the issue. But in the other ones, the screen and keyboard didn’t work either. Now they’ll send it back under warranty. I’m hoping they’ll replace the processor with a new one. It will take months because of the COVID situation—everything is still under lockdown. Do you think they’ll fix it or just give me another one? Also, I realized this problem happened before too; my display stopped working while playing GTA V after upgrading my graphics and CPU cooler. Hope it wasn’t my fault, and that I got the bad chip. But why after four months?
