Pc specifications include an i5 14600KF processor, MSI PRO B760-P DDR4 II motherboard, MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Armor 8G graphics card, Kingston Beast 3200 MHz RAM, Sharkoon WPM700 Bronze, Windows 10 home 64-bit, BIOS version 20230714. I recently switched from an i5 7600K to this setup and have noticed frequent restarts during heavy tasks or when Intel Turbo Boost is turned off, limiting the CPU to around 3.5 GHz. Running benchmarks shows instability, especially after disabling Turbo Boost. One benchmark reported high background CPU activity, while another showed no such warning. Interestingly, after a Discord call, the CPU temperature dropped to 1-2%. The issue seems persistent despite adjusting RAM speed and BIOS settings. I’m seeking advice on possible causes and would appreciate any additional details you can provide. Restarting under heavy stress often indicates the system has hit its temperature threshold. Review the heat readings. It’s possible the CPU cooler isn’t secured correctly, which also accounts for why lower clock speeds last longer before needing a reset.

I’d prefer a more powerful PSU, as this one is currently rated D tier and is only suitable for budget GPUs. https://forums. The first I discovered was F tier back in 2016. Upgrade to something better; it seems your PSU is failing under load. This link mentions it’s an F tier, but the PSU list in the commenter’s signature no longer displays correctly: https://forums.
