there was a reason steam would freeze up when I started it. i timed it at 36 seconds and tried some updates to check what might be causing the issue. after uninstalling one update, the problem briefly stopped working before returning. while playing arma, i opened my controls and it froze for about 10-20 seconds before resuming. once i closed both games, steam took a long time to boot again. i checked if the warthog software or avast was the cause but they didn’t seem to be. i also reinstalled steam and ran its repair feature, though i don’t know the exact name on arma.

Likely it's 2:30 AM and I'm not in the mood to reset my forum password.

Is your Steam Community password the same as your Steam account? You can use them together without needing two separate passwords.

Sure, I'm here for it. What do you need help with?

They informed me they were aware and actively addressing the matter. Steam usually handles these problems effectively. Expect improvements in the next update or the following one.
