I attempted to update my Nvidia drivers and experienced a black screen during installation, forcing a system repair midway. I replaced all components except the RTX 3080 and Corsair TX650m PSU, assuming the older PSU still has life. After switching to a brand new Windows on a fresh SSD, the same problem occurred again at the same location. The PC restarted into system repair multiple times during installation, even after about five attempts. Recently, it has blue-screened several times while gaming, despite not having played any games with this card for three weeks. I’m considering filing a warranty claim with Gigabyte for the 3080. Before doing that, have you checked the GPU’s power delivery or looked into potential driver conflicts?

I’d likely start with a BIOS update first (just be careful not to damage the motherboard). Then check for an older GPU driver—perhaps the present one has some problems.

The system blocks NVIDIA installers and older versions, possibly due to BIOS restrictions. Check settings or alternative methods might help.
