System powers up, yet display remains dark due to missing HDMI connection
My configuration: Motherboard model ASRock B450M Pro4-F, CPU AMD Ryzen 5 1600, GPU Radeon RX 570 8GB by Sapphire RAM (2x Patriot 4GB), power supply Aerocool VX Plus 600W. System has been running for three years with minimal dust accumulation—just a little on the table. I was playing Minecraft and then powered down the machine. When I tried to restart, fans began spinning but the screen remained dark. I attempted several fixes: unplugging HDMI, changing the port, reloading, and cleaning the components. Eventually, I left it and came back later. Opening it up and switching it on again worked fine. I played Minecraft, did some work tasks for about an hour, then played a demanding game (Kingdom: Deliverance) for a few hours without issues. Today, when I tried to turn it on, the fans still spun and the screen stayed black. I tried various troubleshooting steps—removing the GPU, resetting CMOS, reassembling everything, swapping the GPU with another unit from a different PC, and even testing in another system—but nothing resolved the problem. My monitor also functioned correctly on another machine. What could be causing this? What should I try next? Thank you.
Consider the RAM. Wipe the contact area using a sheet of paper or a rubber eraser. Also, sanitize the RAM slot with a brush or lens cleaning tool if available. lel
Sure, I'll give it a shot. There appears to be minimal dust present.
I succeeded, one of the openings appeared slightly dusty, but now everything looks quite tidy.
