System powers off unexpectedly due to operating system issues.
I've never seen a computer power off by itself with the "shutting down" display. I can restart to Windows, but sometimes it will power off again and then restart without starting properly. It restarts after a few minutes or stops completely. Yesterday it didn't shut down for five hours, but now it does after just a short time. If nothing is saved during shutdown, it prompts me to save the process before it ends. After several attempts to cancel, it still powers off unexpectedly. What might be happening? I've tried many fixes: replaced power supply, cleaned dust, refreshed thermal paste, checked RAM, reseated CPU, looked for loose wires, reset CMOS, used event viewer, ran a virus scan, and even reinstalled Windows. The system is about six to seven years old. I'm using a Gigabyte GA Z170X gaming PC with an Intel i7-6700K processor, MSI 2070 graphics, and GSKILL Ripjaw DDR4 RAM. The SSD and HDD are working, and the specs look fine.
