System powers off in BIOS following a short duration or period.
Hello! I'm assembling my new PC and running into some challenges. Here are the details:
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE B650 Gaming X
- CPU: AMD 7600x
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 6400 (DDR5)
- Power Supply: Corsair RM850x
- Cooler: Noctua DH 15
- Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow
Issue: Once I power on, the BIOS starts and everything seems normal—temperatures are under 40°C/100°F, all devices appear in BIOS. After a few seconds to a couple of minutes, the system shuts down completely. The CPU fan is still spinning but the whole setup stops responding.
What I've tried:
- Reconnected cables
- Disconnected all unnecessary cables and accessories (GPU, USB/audio headers, except CPU fans)
- Applied thermal paste/cooler again
- Used both 2x2 and 2x4 power cables to the CPU
- Cleared CMOS
I haven't tried:
- Removing and reinstalling the CPU
- Taking out the M.2 drive (though I don’t plan to use it)
- Replacing the CPU entirely
- Checking for other hardware faults
It seems like the shutdown is happening even though everything looks fine in BIOS. Any advice or next steps would be appreciated!
