Process - Power on PC, boots normally - Launched a game, it works fine then PC restarts abruptly. Temperatures stayed stable during load, normal levels. RAM appears to function correctly. Power supply seems new (Corsair 850W, not exceeding 13600kW/2080W). The computer keeps restarting roughly 3-4 times while in a game; once stopped, it runs smoothly afterward. Operating system is Windows 11 64-bit, Intel 13600K, 64GB DDR5, G.Skill 5600, MSI PRO Z790-A Wi-Fi, EVGA 2080 (~225W). BIOS version 7E07vA8 was recently updated to check for fixes. Overall temperatures stayed between 30-36°C on CPU and ~50°C on GPU during gameplay. XMP and overclocking settings were off. New power supply didn’t resolve the problem (may be faulty). RAM was reinserted and components checked. Recent Windows update may have helped. Any advice? Thanks!

Consider evaluating alternative solutions beyond a fresh power source.

Unstable XMP issue? Disable it and retry.

Yes, I disabled it too. I ended up purchasing a fresh power supply and trust it will work.

The new power supply didn’t affect the outcome. I’m still experiencing unexpected restarts. The event viewer records a kernel power issue. Could the hx1000i have been faulty from the start?

a failing power supply unit would mean total failure—i’d check the CPU cooler installation, as tightening the cooling blocks can lead to unexpected crashes or boot issues. Try loosening the screws slightly to see if the problem resolves.

I considered that as well. I can't assure it's completely flawless, but it's quite similar for the CPU cooler. Hopefully this is the reason behind the problem.
