Hey, for your friends' setup I’m not very familiar with Intel CPUs. They’re using an ROG Maximus XI motherboard with an Intel I7-9700K CPU, 36GB of DDR4 RAM, and they’re streaming, so programs need to stay open while games run. The CPU is running at 67% load at 4.75GHz. It’s about four years old and it’s a single-core chip.

From what I can tell, the system seems fine but upgrading might be worth considering. If anyone has ideas or fixes in mind, I’d really appreciate it. Personally, switching to an AMD board could be more cost-effective.

9700k offers 8 cores with 8 threads, lacking heavy overhead today. It's still comparable to a 6 core 12 thread setup overall, which makes it less suitable for gaming. OBS shouldn't consume such high percentages—something seems off. Check if OBS is utilizing GPU encoding or if the software itself is the issue. Look into Task Manager for details. Your system might behave differently; when I start OBS now, it's using only about 0.3%. That's not normal. Address the problem before assuming hardware failure.

Choose a faster encoding method for OBS. Many people incorrectly set it to slow speeds or default options. If your GPU is 2000 series or newer, use NVENC instead of x264. QuickSync works too if needed. You'll find many tutorials online for guidance.

She requires two main components: a CPU that handles 15% of the VTube and a CPU with 13% utilization. Her graphics performance is around 2060 Super, and she has already resolved many issues, even at the location where she purchased it.

She was aware of it on Venvce already, some of us believe they might struggle to handle Obs and the games together.

Check if she’s using maximum in-game settings. Adjust the Nvidia control panel to performance/high performance mode rather than image quality. Disable v-sync.

Using the model can increase the load a bit. I started the setup and enabled tracking, but OBS and VTS still show less than 1%. My performance is about 5% for NVIDIA face tracking via VTS. Even though I have more cores and threads, my system runs on the same architecture with lower clock speeds. There might be many custom effects or extra tools added on top of OBS—none beyond the model and basic stream elements. If the game is very complex, it could further strain system resources. The resource needs will vary depending on the specific games you play.
