Hello everyone! As mentioned in the title, let's dive deeper into the matter. The concern is clear: during gameplay in Cyberpunk 2077 and more recently Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, I frequently experience freezes that render my mouse and keyboard unresponsive for a few seconds before returning to normal. I checked using the Riva Tuner Statistics Server to rule out any overloads from CPU or GPU, but everything appeared normal. Here’s what I attempted:
- Installed and cleaned all drivers
- Applied Windows updates
- Optimized NVIDIA Control Panel settings
- Set graphics options to low and fine-tuned each setting in the games
- Tested with other titles (notably Elden Ring this year)
- Ensured I was running the latest BIOS version
My system specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
RAM: GSkill Trident Z RGB 16GB @ 3200MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS MASTER
GPU: GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
PSU: Be Quiet! Power 11 1000W
Storage: 250GB SSD, 2TB HDD (Samsung 980 Evo)
Display: Two LED AOC Gaming monitors
Keyboard: ACR 98 Akkogear
Mouse: Logitech G502 Hero
Headset: HiFiiman Sundara
Audio: Rode Procaster
Interface: Audient ID14
Video: Elgato Facecam
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
I tried using alternative mice and keyboards for testing, but the problem persists in other games as well. I haven’t encountered this before, and despite trying all possible fixes online, nothing resolved it. I’m still confused and feel a bit lost—this has been my first time facing such an issue. Please let me know if you have any insights! Thank you for your patience.
AMD offers a configuration option to minimize input delay. It’s possible nVidia also provides a similar feature, so explore their settings. Regarding general BIOS optimization and latency reduction, it involves more advanced steps.
Tested various options: swapped SSD, used different mice, adjusted FPS limits, changed hardware cursor settings, toggled VSync and triple buffering, enabled Freesync, modified mouse report rate (500, 250, 125), reduced display refresh rate from 144 to 60 Hz, and lowered overall performance. All results remained consistent.
