My HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF was emitting three beeps alongside my other CPU, so I brought it to a technician who confirmed the CPU had failed. I swapped it out with an i5-2500s temporarily, but now the system boots but shows no video output. After about 30 seconds, the power supply fan spiked intensely, resembling a plane taking off, yet still no display appeared. Additionally, when I inserted my Quadro K2200 graphics card, it beeped four times, and HP indicated a PSU overload. Despite months of use, this issue has recently emerged. The PC doesn’t emit a beep without RAM, only when the CPU is absent, and I do have a beeper. I’ve cleaned the RAM, reset the CMOS battery, but I’m unsure what else to do—I’m considering discarding the machine.
