Exactly the same problem occurred today. My setup includes an ROZ STRIX X570-E Gaming with a 2019 BIOS, and I recently updated it to the 2021 BIOS. I own a 5900X that doesn’t require overclocking, so it’s running normally. I have two 32 GB RAM kits (GSkill Trident Z’s F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC). Achieving a stable DOCP profile required raising the DRAM socket voltage from 1.35 to 1.36 on the motherboard, which allowed me to run without higher temperatures on the older BIOS. Beyond that, everything is standard. I also run a dual custom water loop with two 480 mL radiators and 16 SP fans in push/pull mode, split between GPU and CPU loops—controlled via an Aquero 6. Loop 1 handles the CPU and VRM with Aquero cooling, while Loop 2 manages the GPU’s heat. Interestingly, immediately after boot (about 35 seconds until Aquasuite opens in Windows), the CPU temperature reaches around 70°C. Until Aquero activates and adjusts fan speeds, it feels like a leaf blower running. Once Aquasuite launches and Aquacomputer service begins, the temp drops to about 10°C above ambient. For those 35 seconds, my machine sounded unusually loud—something unusual—but after Windows loads and Aquacom starts, the temperature normalizes quickly. I’ve used CPUZ to stress-test it; the highest readings were around 30°C above ambient, with all cores reaching up to 4300MHz. CPUZ reports a stable score of 9160, and hwinfo64 confirms no throttling. It seems the BIOS might be causing excessive heat after power-on, but once the OS loads, cooling kicks in smoothly. Those without water cooling or custom loops likely struggle to manage temperatures. ASUS, what did you do? I’ve attached a screenshot just after startup and another during the stress test—CPU temps were noticeably higher at startup than after the test. Probably because Aquasuite takes time to initialize after login.

I've encountered the same issue today with a PRIME B450M-A II. Additional details show that in BIOS the CPU hits 90°, whereas Windows and Linux can drop to 50°—still significantly higher than previous versions. I attempted a BIOS downgrade to the stable version but it didn't help. Tried resetting the BIOS settings, but nothing changed. No overclocking or major adjustments were made; only a new fan was added. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
