System loses access to the boot drive.
Problem: My computer freezes or restarts, showing a black screen that asks to install a boot drive (press any key to proceed). Clearing CMOS doesn’t help. I disconnect power, swap out the motherboard battery, reinstall it, restore power, and enter BIOS. Then I go to F11, choose CSM config → Enable (UEFI) and the system boots normally again. Is the motherboard failing? Battery? RAM? Need advice! Windows Memory Diagnostics shows no issues. Hardware – Prime Z390 Series CPU, Intel 9700K GPU, Radeon 6800 M.2, 1 TB Samsung EVO (boot drive), 2 TB Samsung EVO Plus (air cooled), PSU – Corsair 850W.
