System keeps crashing
System keeps crashing
I need some assistance with this issue.
I recently received a new MB bundle, the Gigabyte GA-Z170-Gaming K3, equipped with an i7-6700K processor overclocked to 4.6 GHz (factory setting). It comes with 32 GB of RAM and a watercooled double fan radiator. It performs well, but sometimes it crashes to a black screen and the fans spin rapidly until I restart it.
I've lowered the overclock to 4.5 GHz, but the problem persists. Should I go back further or abandon the overclock entirely?
I’m unsure what’s causing the issue since it just goes black.
Is there a diagnostic program that can help identify the problem?
Also, I forgot to mention: the GPU is a Gigabyte GTX1080 and the power supply is a Mastercooler 1000W.
Thank you for your help.
It was finally resolved as a software issue.
I deleted the virus and anti-malware programs and reinstalled them.
The system has not crashed since.
Who would have imagined.
Thanks.
