System has stopped working and won't restart or turn on again.
The computer shut down abruptly and doesn't restart. Even though the RGB lights are on, pressing the power button fails to turn it back on. Debug LEDs remain off and fans stop spinning. Specs include an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X processor, Gigabyte X470 Aorus motherboard, 32GB DDR4 T-force Vulcan TUF Gaming RAM at 3600MHz, storage options like Adata SX8200, Samsung 860 Evo, and a Barracuda compute GPU. The PSU is Seasonic Focus+ Gold 750W.
Yes, everything functions properly. The outlet, cord, and power supply are all working correctly.
I experienced the same problem. The computer turned on, blinked my lights, and then shut off, stopping any further power-up. The issue seemed to be a failed power supply; I tried using a 500-watt one to check. It worked, so I recommend having a spare if you have one. Your power supply likely comes with a 12-year warranty through Seasonic—contact them for a return. I also faced the same with my 650W EVGA setup. Let me know if this helps.
I just removed all connections and checked the PSU using my multimeter; the readings matched expectations. I also left out the 8-pin CPU cable and forgot to connect it, so everything powered up—fans and motherboard came on—and the debug LEDs stayed on the CPU. When I turned off the PSU and reconnected the CPU cable, the power button failed again, the fans stopped spinning, and only the RGB lights remained active.
Proceed by resetting the CMOS. Attempt to start the system. If this doesn't resolve the issue, remove all non-essential components, leaving only essentials such as the motherboard, CPU, GPU, one RAM stick, one drive, a single monitor, a keyboard, and no extra USB devices. Try booting under these conditions to identify any additional hardware problems.
