Hey everyone! I just wrapped up a new PC build with these specs: Motherboard – ASUS ROG STRIX B760-I GAMING WIFI CPU – Intel Core i5-13600KF; Graphics – Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 with 12GB VRAM; Power Supply – Seasonic Focus GX 750W; Storage – 1TB Samsung 980 M.2 SSD; RAM – 32GB 6400MHz DDR5 (G.Skill Ripjaws S5 CL32 x2); Boot sequence – LED lights change as described in the manual: CPU check → DRAM → VGA → White → BOOT → Yellow-green. When I power it on, the screen freezes at startup and no output appears. I checked that the VGA connection is correct and that the monitor works with HDMI, but the issue persists. I also tried swapping the 4070 with my old 1060 and clearing CMOS, but nothing changed. I’m only using a monitor via HDMI, keyboard, and mouse. Any suggestions would be super helpful!

Have you completed a full power reset? Disconnect the PSU and press the PC power button briefly. Have you tested with just one RAM module? Did you use RAM from another system? I recommend taking everything apart except the chassis first, then check for a video output. Make sure all connections are secure.

Aim for a non-F CPU whenever possible. An igpu might be useful. On my main workstation, I experienced display issues after making changes. I would power off quickly and then restart. Everything worked the next time. Have you tried this? Also consider using a Windows installation USB drive or updating your BIOS. You may have a flashback button on your motherboard (though that's not the case here). Did you test another monitor, such as a TV? Edited June 15, 2024 by leclod

I forgot to share an update earlier. I found a DisplayPort cable I didn’t realize I had, and it fixed everything right away. It’s strange since the problem was identical with the 1060; I thought the motherboard was the issue, but it seems that setup works for DisplayPort but not for HDMI. After installing Windows, drivers, and updates, the HDMI port also functioned properly.
