System halts upon triggering event ID 98 within the event viewer interface
shows no issues and is recognized correctly. However, the hard drive (drive D displays confusing text like "\\?Volume{a98d1568-0000-0000-0000-100000000000}". After the check finishes, it reports no problems but the system freezes completely, especially during heavy usage such as gaming. My setup uses an X58 motherboard with all software up to date. S.M.A.R.T. indicates everything is normal.

I also adjusted the BIOS settings to AHCI without reinstalling Windows, following a tutorial.
