Message: Hello everyone, I've been experiencing crashes when my PC is under heavy load, like during GTA IV online or R6 Siege. It also crashes when the GPU temperature reaches around 70°C. During one crash in GTA IV, I was on a Discord call and could only hear in-game sounds and my friend, but he couldn't hear me. After restarting, it crashed again after joining GTA IV, though I could still use Discord. This happened twice, and I didn’t retry afterward.
I updated drivers, reset BIOS settings (including CPU multiplier), re-installed GPU and RAM, and did a clean Windows install. I also swapped out the graphics card. I wrote this to share my experience because it might be different from others' solutions.
I tried replacing my GTX1080 with a GTX1050 in another PC, and it didn’t crash during Furmark. I suspect the issue might be related to power supply or GPU rather than the graphics card itself. I’m not sure about specific voltages or currents, but I’m hoping someone can help with the pictures you mentioned. Thanks in advance!
Oh yeah i fergot the most important spec sorry. Its a CoolerMaster 750W Bronze 80plus certified PSU I got it in the end of 2019 so about 3 years old.
I tested my PC with the 1050Ti for a few hours without any issues. I switched back to my GTX1080 and also reattached my PCI-E riser cable. (I should have done this earlier and mentioned I use the one that came with the CableMod vertical GPU mount kit.) When I ran FurMark, it stabilized around 80°C and didn’t crash for five minutes, whereas before it would crash in just 1.5 minutes. I really hope this doesn’t become a recurring problem and I’ll start playing games as soon as possible.
