System halts completely even when using the BIOS settings.
My computer becomes stuck after just a couple of minutes, not limited to Windows but also occurring inside the BIOS after a short idle or movement period. During these moments, everything stops responding (coolers for case and CPU are functioning). I’ve kept it in sleep mode overnight before waking up to a completely black screen with both the DRAM and CPU status lights illuminated on the motherboard. (Now I see only the boot light, not the DRAM or CPU indicators, and it doesn’t light up when freezing). I managed to log into Windows, but it freezes again after a few minutes. Here’s a snapshot of the event viewer when I entered, matching the time I put the device to sleep before bed. All components—case, CPU, motherboard, RAM—are brand new. The PC had been stable for over four days until today. I’ve tried several things: reset CMOS (multiple times, even removing the battery), tested each RAM stick separately in the right slot (no changes), checked temperatures—everything normal, removed GPU and used integrated graphics, unplugged all storage drives, confirmed BIOS is current, no overclocking active. Unfortunately, I don’t have a backup PSU or motherboard to test with. Would anyone else experience BIOS freezes like this, or have you any suggestions? PC specs: CPU – AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, GPU – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, Motherboard – ASRock B850 PRO-A, RAM – 128 GB DDR5 (two 64GB sticks), Storage – SSD #1 (Windows boot), #2 (secondary), #3 (extra), PSU – Corsair RM1000e (1000W, 80+ Gold, fully modular), CPU cooler – AIO liquid cooler.
You meant to confirm whether your testing excluded overclocking, specifically disabling EXPO/XMP and using the RAM at its standard speeds. Also, you asked if you changed the EPS CPU power cable to access a different 12V output on the PSU or used an alternative cable.
