Hello, I'm looking for assistance with a recurring issue I've been experiencing since August after a Windows 10 update. Sometimes my computer wouldn't shut down or restart properly—it kept looping to the shutdown screen without ever closing. Despite trying numerous fixes like disabling fast startup, adjusting power plans, updating drivers, running virus scans, checking for updates, and even using registry tweaks, the problem persists. Occasionally it happens when the PC slows down or struggles to open a program. Here are my system details: CPU AMD Ryzen 5900X, motherboard Aorus x570 Elite Bios F35, 64GB RAM Corsair Vengeance, GPU AMD MSI Armour 580x, case Thermaltake Overseer, storage drives WD BLACK 2TB and SN850 NVMe SSDs, display ASUS VG278 and VE278, CPU cooler CORSAIR iCUE H100i Elite, cooling system CAPELLIX, keyboard Logitech G710+, mouse Logitech 403 Hero, gaming mouse, sound equipment, and I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Please help me resolve this. Thank you.

Hello! Yes, a slow PC can cause lag in games and make it harder to open programs smoothly. Performance issues often lead to errors or crashes during operation.

It seems like each time I attempt to launch a game, it fails to respond or appears only after a restart. Despite this, I've been able to close the application using Task Manager.

Are you relying on an outdated motherboard BIOS? Your AGESA might be damaged. Did you install the newest chipset drivers from AMD instead of Gigabyte? Have you attempted using XMP settings?

This seems like a driver issue, possibly from a stubborn program that won't close or behave properly. The quickest way to speed up your PC is usually to upgrade the motherboard BIOS—those updates are what @191x7 mentioned. Using incompatible drivers can cause strange delays. Even if you've updated everything, removing some low-level apps like USB or audio drivers might help. If that doesn't work, try disconnecting all USB devices and see if it improves performance. If nothing changes, a clean install could be necessary. Fixing computer problems often means isolating what's actually causing the problem.

Looking for references explaining why the F-35's aging issues are problematic?

Apologies for the delay. I refreshed to version F37 (not beta), turned off XMP, but the issue persists. Do you have any other ideas?

I removed my Corsair iCUE and the issue disappeared. I’m unsure why that app caused it, especially since closing it before shutting down or restarting didn’t trigger the problem. It’s been two years now, and it hasn’t come back. I feel a bit disappointed because I rely on it to manage the fans, and I’m worried about trusting Corsair again if I install it later. Anyone else experienced this issue or has Corsair released any updates to resolve it?
