While it has been around for a while, recent years have seen a shift toward UEFI, an updated version designed for faster performance and modern components like NVMe drives connected via PCIe. This transition offers improved boot times and better system compatibility. A few additional useful details.
Consider setting optimized defaults in your BIOS settings. This restores the configuration Asus suggests, preventing accidental changes. Press F7 if you're not already in Advanced Mode, then navigate to the top-right Save/Exit menu. In the available options, select Load Optimized Defaults. This provides a stable starting point for more reliable settings.
This will not affect your Windows hard drive. It will only modify the BIOS/UEFI settings. The BIOS works at a lower level before storage is used, so optimizing defaults won't impact your Windows disk.
