Since mid May I’ve faced some system freezes, at first I didn’t give much thought, but now it’s been a recurring problem for months. Occasionally my PC freezes while idle or during gaming, regardless of the workload. The monitors freeze, sounds play for about ten seconds before cutting out, then it restarts and everything resumes. The intervals between these incidents range from days to a couple of weeks. So far it hasn’t happened more than once in a single day, though it’s possible. I’ve tried various solutions: updated drivers (511.79, 512.15, 512.95, 516.94), used DDU in safe mode, performed multiple clean installs of Windows 11 (currently 22H2), updated BIOS and drivers, removed potential GPU disruptors like AI suite and ICE, switched monitors from DPI to HDMI, adjusted power plans, set PCIe state to GPU-only, reset the card, and turned off hardware acceleration in many apps. I ran a memory test with no errors. My system specs are: Windows 11 Pro 22H2 64bit, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS with Intel 10700K, G.Skill TridentZ Neo Series DDR4 32GB at 3600MHz (XMP 1 in BIOS), ASUS STRIX 3080TI OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 2280-500GB (boot), Samsung 870 EVO 2.5" SSD 1TB, WD Red Plus NAS drive 4TB, Corsair RM1000i 1000W (80 PLUS Gold). It’s worth mentioning the issues began right after installing the 3080Ti, unlike before when a 1080Ti ran smoothly. I’ll share the latest Windows dump; the crash occurred yesterday (Wednesday). Please let me know if you noticed anything I missed or any recommendations. Thanks, 092822-5734-01.dmp

I’d really test Windows 10 to check for the same problems. I’m aware Windows 11 has caused many issues, and even the recent update last week affected NVIDIA hardware stability, leading to crashes.

I've thought about it, but it occurs both before and after the newest update. My previous card worked fine on November 11. Still, you never really know what Microsoft will do next.

I set it up previously and still experienced another crash, it doesn't appear the Windows version affects it.

Reduce XMP to 3200 and verify the result. I understand you ran a memtest, but it might still affect it.

Would suggest poor RAM quality.

Yes and no. Ram can experience three issues. The motherboard topology affects memory handling, with some designs managing it better than others. The CPU's internal memory controller varies in handling clock speeds and memory capacity, while the RAM itself may differ in performance. I think the issue likely lies with the IMC, as the memtest showed no problems.

So lets say it is that, is there any possible fix, or am i looking at a faulty cpu?

It doesn't indicate a faulty CPU because any XMP setting is treated as an overclock. Values above 2666 aren't assured to function on these chips. The outcome mainly depends on the quality of the silicon, and you might have received a subpar result for your IMC or faced stability issues. There could be other factors at play that aren't immediately obvious without testing the system directly.

I plan to reduce the setting a bit, but I’m starting to worry about my memory. I’ve seen several discussions where the RAM issue ended up here, and most of them look pretty similar to what I’m experiencing.
