I own a PC built for my gaming needs over the past few years. It includes a mid-range processor, decent RAM, a solid motherboard, and various components that have served me well. I primarily play games like CS2, Fortnite, and BF 2042. Recently, I've noticed frequent random shutdowns lasting from a few minutes to several hours during gameplay. Despite checking forums, support sites, and running diagnostics, I haven't found a clear cause. I've tried memtest, monitored temperatures, upgraded my power supply, and stress-tested parts without success. The temperatures remain normal, and the PSU is stable. It seems the issue might involve a mix of software and hardware compatibility. I'm planning to invest in a newer CPU, more RAM, and an upgraded motherboard soon, hoping that will resolve the problem. Until then, I'm waiting a few months before making further purchases. What else should I be checking or doing to identify the root cause?

A Reddit post mentions it may be something related to the motherboard. To be honest, I don't understand how this issue came to be. However, I do suggest you to not save up for Intel 14th gen CPU/RAM/MOBO combo, but rather for an AM5 (Ryzen 7000-series, specifically) upgrade kit. Intel 14th gen, especially higher-end chips, are not stable. Even if they've been stabilized by Intel through updates, I just don't recommend them. Oh, and the upcoming Arrow Lake CPUs are coming onto a different socket.

Thanks for the reply, I'm considering purchasing either a Ryzen or Intel... it'll be seen how it goes. But hopefully the issue lies with the motherboard.

It seems it's probably one of those three anyway. Hope you manage to save up for your new upgrade kit!
