The other fan ports may not work properly with this app. The fan or wires could be faulty. You can test the four socket connector to check if the terminals are damaged on the three socket connector. If the problem isn’t there, it might be downstream—between the connectors and the fan. Try using a different fan to determine if the issue lies with the fan, socket, wires, or motherboard port. Also, verify the port settings in BIOS to ensure they’re set to DC rather than PWM when using the three socket port. Ideally, you should use the four socket port for this setup. This change may resolve your problem.

I activated the smart fan control, which reduced the fan’s voltage from 7.2V to 6V. The problem was resolved, and there’s no more overheating, making it a satisfactory fix.
