Hi everyone, I recently installed NVMe on my system and noticed strange behavior during gaming or GPU tests. The whole setup would suddenly malfunction and crash. After checking, the motherboard voltage drops from 3.3V to around 3.08V when the GPU is under heavy load. This inconsistency seems to interfere with the NVMe drive, causing it to appear disconnected from the OS. I've confirmed the NVMe is working normally during disk tests, but only under stress does the voltage fluctuate. I also verified the PSU's 3.3V output using a multimeter—no drop there. It appears the issue occurs when the GPU pulls power from the 24-pin connector, possibly through the VRM, which might be unstable. The 3.3V reading after it exits the VRM and passes through the motherboard seems affected. My question is: why does the GPU load impact this voltage? Does it draw power directly from that pin? Where exactly is the 3.3V sensor located on the board? Is it routed through a VRM that's having trouble? How can I stabilize the voltage to prevent these problems? My system specs are: Asrock B450m HDV Ryzen 5 2600, 2x8GB, PC3200, NVMe KLEVV, C710, 512GB SSD, and a Sandisk 240GB SATA 2TB drive with the Coolermaster 500W power supply.
