System fails to boot, smoke observed from GPU/PCIe slot after powering on.
Hello everyone. As discussed earlier, this issue began when I turned my PC on before it shut down. It worked fine a few hours ago during normal use—no unusual activities. I replaced the power supplies without any change. Then I removed the GPU and reinserted it, but the problem persisted.
I’m uncertain about the next steps. The system uses a custom loop, so my only idea is to dismantle everything and replace the motherboard or GPU.
Components listed: Ryzen 5950X, Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero with EK Monoblock, 4080 FE in EK waterblock, 64 Corsair Dominator Platinum 3600MHz CL16, Corsair HX1000i.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m feeling quite anxious.

Act fast but be careful. Breathe deeply and trust in what has already happened. All that occurred is past, and nothing can be changed.

Thanks to the guidance, I managed to resolve the problem. It seems a component on the GPU's PCB failed. I wasn't entirely certain what caused it, but fortunately my 3090 was still in its air cooler. I spent an evening disassembling the loop, reinstalling the 3090 into its waterblock, and putting it back together. Luckily, I hadn't soldered it yet.

Nice to know that Nvidia RMA'd the 4080, which I've now received and am using again.

I would consider it a solid victory. I've only experienced this situation very infrequently.
