I assembled a PC a few months back. All systems have been functioning properly until now. My setup includes a Ryzen 9 7900X, ASRock B650E board, T-Force DDR5 32GB 6000MHz RAM, Intel A770 GPU, Crucial P3 Plus M.2, and two T-Force Vulcan Z SSDs. Everything has worked well so far. Recently, after waking the machine, the screen failed to display anything, though the keyboard and mouse lit up. The lights turned off completely. Upon checking the motherboard, I noticed only the CPU and RAM lights were active. After disconnecting and reconnecting everything except the CPU, the lights still wouldn’t shut down. I’m unsure what might have caused this—it’s my first PC, so I don’t know if the board or components failed. Could you offer some guidance?
I changed the RAM from their original slots and waited longer than usual. The computer started booting without issues, and all readings look normal. However, it now takes twice as long to launch compared to its regular speed.
Seemed to encounter an unusual 'halfway' situation with some machines running at XMP settings. Re-seating the RAM triggered a memory retraining process. If this persists, consider lowering your RAM's speed by one setting below its rated rate—for example, 3600MT instead of 3600—though it shouldn't significantly impact performance. The 7900X controller supports up to 5200MT DDR5, so exceeding that is treated as an overclock and may affect stability at higher speeds. Your slower startup could stem from RAM issues; DOCP/XMP might have been disabled due to instability, leading to cold boots instead of warm ones. Unless temperatures are high or crashes occur, it's usually not a major concern.
Got it. Here’s a revised version:
I’ll take care of it. Appreciate the details—I’m still getting used to this project.
