the ssd is only a few weeks old, which makes me question if the issue is related. i searched online and saw a mention of problems with 1809 iso files and older macos versions, so i'm downloading an 1803 iso just in case it affects mojave too.

It was installed properly and functioned well, but I used it only as a backup plan. I removed it right away. I’ll reinstall it if required for school, otherwise it’s fine.
