System fails to start on GTX 1080 graphics card.
Hi everyone need help to troubleshoot with my pc currently I have this system Motherboard : msi 760g-p43 Bios Version : 1.3 CPU : fx 6350 Ram : kingston 1333 mhx 4gb x 2 SSD : apacer 120gb PSU : huntkey mvp 750watt gold rated 80+ OS : Windows 10 Pro 64 bit I installed GTX 1080 FE into this system, the system POSTed but no display then I installed my RTX 3070 and it boots properly with display and all, I tried putting that GTX 1080 FE into another system and it runs perfectly. Already tried swapping the psu and cpu, testing the ram with each slot. It rans ok with the internal gpu. My question is how do I display the output from GTX 1080 FE from the system above? Is there any compatibility issue that I'm not aware of?
This. For some cards there's a firmware update from Nvidia due to DisplayPort bug, there's a tool you can download to see if your card is affected. Try a different screen/cable, maybe even a TV with HDMI and see if you get image out. Here's the tool: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/nv-...pdate-x64/ I saw this bug on a Titan X Pascal and GTX 960.
They mentioned trying different cables and updates, but the HDMI setup still doesn't work properly. Using the DP cable seems to be the problem, though they noticed it worked when HDMI was first connected. It's a bit confusing.
