System fails to start following TPM setup
Hello, your setup involves ASUS P8Z77-M Pro boards with TPM 20-1 headers. You purchased pre-owned TPM modules and installed them, but the system won’t boot properly. Normally a beep occurs before the ASUS splash screen appears, yet no sound is made and the monitor fails to detect input. After updating the BIOS, the problem persists. You’re wondering if the motherboards and TPMs are compatible with each other, given that your motherboard is ASUS while the modules are from Gigabyte. Have others experienced similar issues, or do you have any advice?
There are various versions of TPM available on the same connector, yet they cannot communicate with each other.
I've faced the same issue when setting up an Asus TPM on an MSI board. When the system powers on, does the TPM feel warm? I suspect a Z77 board likely won't be compatible with a TPM 2.0 anyway. From what I know, TPM 2.0 emerged after the shift from BIOS to UEFI, and Z77 aligns well during that transition. You probably need a 1.2 version to get it working.
