Hello, When I tried to upgrade Windows 8.1 for disk cleanup it triggered an error. I decided to restart and copy the installation files to a USB drive, but the automatic repair didn’t fix it. Now I can’t access my Windows. The error code is 0x80070570. Please help! I’m using a genuine copy on my laptop. Can’t use it anymore.

The installation files remain on the USB drive. To proceed, start the computer in BIOS and load it from the USB.

The windows files remain on the USB drive. I adjusted the BIOS to start from USB initially. However, the issue persists with frequent errors. I’m unable to resolve it.

I understand, right? It seems like you might need a different PC to handle these installation files. Some research suggests the issue could be due to corrupted files.

I don’t have access to the exact error message you’re seeing. Could you share the details or code snippet so I can help identify the issue?

The issue suggests a possible missing or damaged file. Since the installation isn't completing, try creating a Linux live USB on another machine. Boot from it and use GParted to prepare your hard drive.
