System fails to start following abrupt power cut.
Hello, I experienced a sudden shutdown of my computer. It started working normally but then became stuck after just a few seconds, shutting down repeatedly. The hardware has been functioning well for about 1.5 months. I shared a video regarding the MB LEDs, but the sound in it isn’t coming from the computer itself. I’ve replaced the CPU several times, and there are no bent pins on the motherboard. CPU temperatures are normal. I’ve also tried booting without RAM and using different RAM slots on the motherboard. My graphics card, an Asus Strix 4090, shows a blinking red LED. I’m unsure what this indicates. Even when I disconnect the graphics card, it still doesn’t power on. All fans are spinning correctly. The specifications are: motherboard MSI Z790 tomahawk DDR5, CPU I9-13900k, RAM G.Skill Trident Z, graphics Asus Strix 4090, power supply BeQuiet Dark Power 12 Pro 1200W. Any clues could help? I stress-tested the system during assembly and everything seemed fine. 20230706_104157.mp4
The LED on the graphics card often indicates a power issue. It could mean the cable is disconnected from the PSU or not delivering power properly. Check that all power connections are secure, particularly at the GPU and PSU. If the system won’t start, try replacing the PSU with another one. This suggests a faulty PSU or a cable that overheated and damaged. Your PSU should still be covered by warranty—consider initiating a return or replacement process? Good luck!
Thanks for the update. I've confirmed all fan splitters, checked the original Bequiet 12V cable, and plugged cables into both PSU and graphics card. Still experiencing the same problem. Oddly enough, if I restart the PC after a few hours, it boots into Windows and runs for about 10 minutes without issues. Then it powers off and the original issue resurfaces. Temperatures looked normal in hwinfo, and the PSU feels cold to the touch. Could it still be a faulty PSU? I've attached a video of the blinking LED on the graphics card. 20230706_223712.mp4
The red blinking lights near the GPU connectors suggest it isn<|pad|>, indicating a power supply problem. The fact that the issue persists after disconnecting the GPU points to a PSU fault. Would you like me to run a bench test on the system? Do you have an alternative PSU available for testing?
I don’t have another PSU to try. If I disconnect my graphics card as in the video, it behaves the same. I’ll visit a computer store to check if they can test with another PSU. Thanks both of you! 20230707_065417.mp4
