System fails to start and transitions into Windows Error Recovery mode repeatedly.
A few weeks back my computer crashed into a BSOD and after it rebooted I was left with just a black screen and no cursor. I tried restarting again but ended up on an error recovery screen, so I ran Startup Repair as before. It took about 15 hours and still showed the same problem. After that I attempted safe mode, a system file check, and a disk check, but nothing resolved it. No restore points were available, and I couldn’t access Task Manager or the command prompt. The Last Known Good Configuration didn’t help either. Recently I cloned my drive to an SSD, yet both drives still trigger the error screen. I’ve tried everything, but I’m stuck. Are there any fixes left, or should I consider reinstalling Windows? My OS is Windows 7 and I thought I’d waited a while before updating, but I know it’s time eventually.
Avoid using Windows 7 unless you have extensive knowledge about computers, software, or operating systems. The device needs updates from a long time ago. Set up a standard consumer edition of Windows 10 instead.
