I just got a new Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SSD to use as an extra storage for games. I connected the power cable from the PSU and linked the SATA cable to the motherboard. When I tried to open Disk Management, nothing showed up and wasn’t ready to start. The BIOS didn’t detect it either. I turned on hot-swap in the BIOS but still had no success. I updated all the drivers in Device Manager, but I’m stuck and have no ideas anymore. GPU: 3060 M. Bob: b450m A II CPU: Ryzen 5600X BIOS: last updated 2021

How many SATA ports have you checked? Because motherboards can split bandwidth between SATA and M.2 slots, trying several is the best approach here.

Tested 2 SATA ports, number 5 and 6, using another SATA cable.

Just experiment with various SATA power and data cables or switch the ports on the motherboard. It might be the port or cable that's causing the problem. If it remains undetected in the BIOS, try connecting it to another system.

Check the earlier message to understand the issue. The manual screenshot was shared again. If you have an M.2 drive, SATA ports 5 and 6 are turned off—consider using a different port.

It seems you overlooked something important. It looks like port 1 through 4 might be the right answer. I'll try it and update. Appreciate your support!

It took a few moments to capture the screenshot, after which I revised the post to receive an initial response. Updating content is typical on this forum.
