I've encountered a strange issue with my old Compaq workstation. Rebooting from Windows (XP, Vista, or 10) triggers a "System or non-system disk error," but shutting it down and restarting works perfectly. It's not a critical problem, but I'm curious about the cause. The system uses a Lexar NS100 SATA SSD with a Compaq NW9440 Mobile Workstation Quadro FX 1500m Core 2 Duo T7700 processor and 2x2gb DDR2-800 memory. Anyone have any ideas?

Boot sequence could be off—verify in BIOS, then proceed with a full SSD diagnostic scan.
