I observed the system crash due to a failing GPU and a solid red CPU indicator. Removing all components except the CPU and one RAM stick didn’t fix it, so I replaced the CPU with a Ryzen 5600X. The issue persisted when booting without the GPU, drives, or full RAM. We installed the same parts but the GPU and case fans still spun while no drive activity appeared from the HDD. I updated the BIOS to version 7C02v3G1 via the flash bios button. Before suggesting a new purchase, I wanted to know if there were other steps I could try to resolve the problem.
You might attempt it, though it seems unlikely to succeed. Essentially, taking apart the entire setup and reassembling it could be a viable option.
I did this when I installed the new CPU since the cooler mount changed. I removed the whole board, placed the CPU in, secured the cooler, and then reinstalled it. It seems a fresh board is what we should have.
Remove the RAM and test for errors during startup without any installed unit. The boot process will follow the CPU, BIOS, and RAM sequence. Any issues indicate a RAM problem. This resolved my previous symptoms—removing, powering on, and reinserting the RAM fixed the matter.
If memory problems occurred, I’d anticipate the warning indicator activating, though I’m willing to attempt a fix.
