I've been using two sticks in dual channel for a whole year: 2 x 8 GB DDR4 2933MHz CL15 (Corsair Vengeance Low Profile). My CPU is 2700X and the motherboard is Gigabyte X370. I previously wrote a thread about a year ago when I couldn't run it at 3200MHz CL16. The system crashes to blue screen as soon as I press desktop, sometimes even before. Recently, I needed more RAM and ordered another pair from Corsair (same model). I installed them and tried running the setup again. I set them back to factory settings at 3200MHz CL16 and have been stable for about 15 minutes without any issues. I also ran Cinebench without any crashes or blue screens. This is significantly better than what I experienced before. I plan to test the stability further. Have anyone else faced similar problems? I was considering getting a new board if these sticks still didn't work, but they're now performing well.
Typically it's the opposite. Individuals prefer handling two sticks over four.
