Is it the heatsink part or just the fan? I had to raise the fan on my PA140 to clear the DRAM. I don't think I had to do that with my PA120, but those DIMMs are bare so they're really short.
Here's a pic of my PA140 fan installation:

I think the heatsink was also an issue, not just the fan. But after checking online pictures and seeing that 'step' was likely made to create space for the RAM, I got confused.
I assumed the fans should be level with the end of the heatsink because of the top part, but now I realize the "outside" fan can be positioned higher. Hm.
Maybe I became upset or angry that it didn’t just fit perfectly.
Thanks for the advice, I’ll take it off/remove it and test again tomorrow.
One thing to note is whether it’s worth sacrificing so much cooling performance just to have it sideways (the correct orientation)? If I raise the fan higher, not all the air will flow through those blades. But there should definitely be a valid reason behind this design in most coolers.
Anyway, since the bottom is already in place, it’s not a big problem now.

So it turned out well. Raising the fan made it align perfectly with the top informative platform, appearing just right. I’ll take photos at sunset since the glass reflects everything, though the contents inside are now visible. Gallery
