System displays black after GPU driver update.
Hello everyone, I'm feeling quite confused right now. I just received a new PC with an AMD 3700x/ASRock B450 and 32GB of RAM. I kept the same components from my previous setup: my Asus Tuf 1660 and the old 625W power supply. Everything is functioning properly, and I can play games for weeks. However, when I try to boot up, I encounter a black screen and my keyboard stops responding—mouse also shuts down. It works in safe mode, but removing the Nvidia driver and reinstalling it causes the same issue. I've checked the event logger and found several DCOM error codes (10005, 10010). I'm worried about the power supply or graphics card and hope someone can help me out. Thank you, D.
Recent update: I encountered a new issue. The GPU driver is present, but I can access it remotely. However, enabling VGA causes Windows to immediately disable it. No details were found for event ID 14 from the provided source. It seems the component isn’t installed locally or the installation may be faulty. You might need to install or fix it on your own machine. If the problem originated from another device, ensure display settings were saved with the event. The event details indicate a SPI read failure at address 272 (0x00000065). The message resource exists but isn’t found in the table. I’ve tried various solutions—different PCIe slots, RAM sticks, diagnostics, reinstalling Windows, CPU tests, HDMI cable replacement, and even replacing the monitor—but nothing resolved it. It appears there might be an issue with my old power supply, despite being 13 years old. Thanks, D.
