The issue is clear: my mouse works fine but clicking things is slow or doesn’t register. No apps open or close properly, and shutting down via the power button forces a lock screen before everything resumes. The only workaround is pressing the power button to force shutdown, which restores normal operation until it happens again. There’s a "rain" animation on my Corsair RAM that stops when the PC freezes. A red error appeared next to it after I opened iCUE, but nothing appeared when I clicked it. The problem began a few weeks ago and occurs daily at random times, not during heavy tasks. I’ve been mining Bitcoin since then, using both NiceHash and Salad for hours each day. The freeze happened while mining or not. I removed the mining software after that, but the issue persists. My PC has specs listed below: Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB RAM, 3200MHz (2x16), Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, Asus X570-Plus TUF Gaming, 970 Evo 1TB SSD, and Corsair CXM 650W PSU. I’m hoping someone can help fix this frustrating problem.
I might remove the RAM software and restart several times. Attempt to revert the Windows updates. If the problem continues, back up everything on the C drive and reinstall Windows from scratch. I faced a comparable issue and the fresh setup resolved it.
