Hi, I’m facing major stability problems since my hardware upgrade. I switched to a 13th gen i5, an ASUS motherboard, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. While playing games—both Control and Detroit Become Human—I’ve noticed frequent crashes. The system feels completely unresponsive; audio keeps looping the same noise, and I often have to shut it down forcefully. This issue appears only during gaming sessions, not when using normal desktop tasks or running memory tests. I’ve updated the BIOS and drivers, but nothing changed. I’ve reinstalled Windows and Ubuntu since the hardware change, yet it still happens. I suspect a hardware fault, as it started after I replaced the CPU and motherboard. No advice has helped so far. Thanks for your help!

Hardware specs: ASUS Prime Z690-P, Gigabyte RTX 3080 TI, Intel i5-13600K, 32GB DDR5, EVGA 1000W PSU

Usually found more often with Ryzen chips, but verify your RAM model against ASUS' QVL for the specific board. If absent, it could indicate instability.

Thanks for your response. It seems to match several models from the same maker. The memory stress test also passed well. This might be the reason, though I'm still unsure.

I relied on a standard memory assessment procedure. A fast test might delay showing the issue—particularly if the problem lies in a defective memory chip or a faulty storage device. The glitch could only appear once the system starts accessing that specific memory area.

I ran memtest86 with four full passes through the 32GB drive. Not completely confident it was sufficient.

Earlier, I was using a vertical GPU mount. I assumed there could be a connection problem, so I connected the GPU straight to the motherboard. I've been playing a game for a while now and believe it resolved the issue. Thank you all for your assistance.
