Hi tech friends of Linus! I'm facing some issues with my Asus Rog Strix G732LWS 17. Here are the details:

- System: Windows 10, Intel Core I7 10875H, 2.30GHz, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070, Super SSD with 1TB (two disks), 16GB RAM split into two modules. All components are genuine.
- Problem started about a year ago. Blue screens appeared a few months back and have been recurring since then.
- First occurrence happened after sleep mode with a restart on BIOS, showing "Storage device not found" for the SSD. It got worse during idle periods at night.
- During morning use, I’d see the same error in BIOS with "Storage device not found." BSODs began after a few minutes of inactivity—while watching videos, browsing, or playing games.
- Only when running a game in the background could I continue using the PC for basic tasks. Once paused, BSODs appeared.
- In Turbo mode, blue screens disappeared, but in other modes the core voltages were low (around 0.70–0.80V). When not in Turbo, after a few minutes (5 to 30 minutes), the PC would freeze and trigger BSODs with different messages. It would then restart automatically, but in BIOS it failed to boot Windows.
- No minidumps were recorded, suggesting the SSD might stop working after a reboot.
- I had to manually shut down and restart the laptop. It works normally in Windows after shutdown, but BSODs followed.
- I noticed this only happens when the SSD isn’t in Turbo mode, and voltages drop significantly.
- After several attempts—driver updates, BIOS changes, factory reset, cleaning the laptop, testing RAM—I still face these persistent issues.
- Plugging in or unplugging the SSD, updating drivers, running safe mode, and even using different Windows versions didn’t resolve the problem.
- Sleep mode causes immediate BSODs with no SSD detected, followed by automatic reboots in BIOS.
- I’m considering increasing the voltage slightly in non-Turbo modes to see if it stops the crashes, but the BIOS only allows lowering it.

Possible causes seem to be:
- Voltage fluctuations (especially in silent or performance mode)

In Windows Event Viewer, Event ID 6008 shows an unexpected shutdown time before the crash. I plan to boot from a Linux Live USB to check if the RAID array behaves strangely when the laptop sleeps. I also moved one SSD from slot 1 to 3 just to rule out a faulty slot, but only one of the two SSDs is recognized now. Did you come across any solution on your end? Thanks.

@unclewebb, let me check. Are these "High Performance" options accessible when the device is on battery? For now, I'm using the Petranera solution in Performance mode from Asus, which Windows treats as a high-performance plan, but it only works when connected to AC power.

Following the tests: Armoury Crate’s Turbo mode appears to work around issues as long as the laptop is connected to AC power. I tried ThrottleStop on battery mode, but crashes still occur under light load. Unless someone has a quick fix, I’m leaning toward returning the item for replacement. I just hope they won’t just reinstall Windows again.

I opened an RMA and sent it back for repairs or a replacement, since I've tested everything and even performed a clean Windows installation. All my efforts were in vain. The laptop is back at their repair center, and they said they'll replace the motherboard once more... Have you discovered any other fixes? I notice many users are dealing with this issue on the Rog Strix laptop.

Consider turning off the green power-saving and sleep features in Bios. Next, navigate to Windows and disable Hibernation, which many laptops encounter problems with, and possibly turn off Sleep Mode as well.
