I've experienced this unusual problem over the last few days after my PC upgrade. I recently installed a new CPU and GPU, but nothing is overclocked. My system includes MSI x470 Gaming Pro, Ryzen 7 5800X, several SSDs, and a couple of drives. Essentially, anything connected via USB or display cables loses power when I run certain applications. The internal components—CPU, fans, GPU, lights—remain operational. This issue only appears during high-demand tasks like playing Red Dead Redemption 2 at maximum settings, not under normal use. I've run Cinebench and Furmark without any crashes. I've tried reinstalling old Nvidia drivers, updating AMD graphics drivers, checking power connections, re-seating the CPU and GPU, and even used AMD's undervolting tool. Still, nothing has worked. I don't think it's a thermal problem since temperatures stay within normal ranges. Any advice would be appreciated!
RedDead Redemption seems to be the cause, but it doesn't match any other application. Try this: adjust your USB settings and turn off "USB selective suspend."
Also consider setting FPS to 60fps lock in RDR2. This may also resolve the issue on certain Rigs.
